The Book of Revelation

Revelation is the Bible's final book — a vision of Christ's victory over evil, the new heaven and new earth, and God dwelling with his people forever. Rich in symbol and unshakable in hope.

Christ reigns

Beneath the dramatic visions, Revelation's message is simple: Christ has already won. The slain Lamb sits on the throne (chapter 5). Every empire that opposes God falls; every trial believers endure is temporary; the King returns. The book was first written to comfort persecuted Christians, and that comfort is its enduring purpose.

All things made new

Revelation closes the Bible the way it began — with God dwelling among his people in a garden (Genesis 2) become a city (Revelation 21-22). 'And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death... for the former things are passed away' (21:4). The whole biblical arc lands here.

Key verses (KJV)

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.” — Revelation 21:4 (KJV)
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him.” — Revelation 3:20 (KJV)
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength.” — Revelation 5:12 (KJV)

How to read Revelation

Don't begin Bible-reading with Revelation. Read the seven letters to the churches (chapters 2-3) first — they ground the book in real first-century communities. Then read 4-5 (the heavenly throne room) and 21-22 (the new creation). The book is poetry as much as prophecy; let the images do their work before you try to decode them.
